Hunger Games Opens Tonight!

We're really excited about the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games movie tonight!

I've held off on writing about this one for a while, although we read the series a while back. My girls were so into it, I decided to see if I could find a literature study unit about it for homeschool. Bingo! I found this wonderful resource written by a high school English teacher for her classroom. I ordered it through www.teacherspayteachers.com  and was so impressed with the creativity, professional design, and the absolute thorough-ness of it. We did almost all the worksheets and assignments; but there are a lot! You may want to choose a few to do. Mrs. Orman has also written units for each of the other novels in the trilogy and is actively teaching them in her classes. Since the time I purchased this unit study, she has added a blog with even more teaching ideas and great comments from her students. It's amazing to see how excited these students are about the books, the movie, and her class.

Since I always approach literature from a Biblical standpoint, I had some different ideas for ways to teach The Hunger Games. I'll be sharing some of these and a review after we've all had a chance to hit the cinemas this weekend!

Happy Hunger Games and "May the odds be ever in your favor!"
